Procurement

AMPC can assist you in determining the best approach to contracting the works, goods and services required to implement your project and support you in the procurement process, resulting in the selection of high-quality contractors and suppliers at competitive prices. If a public tender process is preferred, we can develop tender documents in line with international competitive bidding norms and/or national public procurement guidelines and either support your procurement team during the tender process or take full responsibility for launching the tender, bid evaluation, contract award and contract negotiations. Alternatively, we can support you by shortlisting a number of possible candidates and facilitate a process of competitive dialogue or lead direct negotiations with a preferred supplier. Either way, our longstanding experience in healthcare procurement will help you achieve the best value for money.

Project management

Healthcare infrastructure projects are complex undertakings requiring collaboration between a variety of parties –from contractors and suppliers to financiers and regulating authorities– who enter the project life cycle at different stages with different roles and responsibilities, and sometimes with conflicting interests. AMPC can support you to successfully manage your project either by acting as overall project manager or providing expert assistance to your project management team. We offer both general project management services applicable to all disciplines –e.g. scheduling, budget management and contractor management– and specific healthcare related services, such as managing the interface between construction and medical equipment installation. We can offer our project management services during a particular phase of your project, or as a comprehensive package, managing your project from start to finish.

Supervision

Above and beyond a general project management role, AMPC can carry out the role of independent engineer and provide design review, on-site supervision and commissioning services. We can provide day-to-day oversight of constructions works in terms of time, cost and quality to ensure technical contract specifications, building regulations and quality standards are respected, and worksite risks are minimised. In addition, we can deliver independent commissioning services taking into account the unique requirement of a hospital building, for example air pressure regimes, radiation protection, supply of medical gases and emergency back-up power systems. Moreover, we can provide supervision services for equipment installation, reviewing bills of quantities and technical specifications, ensuring pre-installation requirements are met, and supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment. Thus, AMPC can help ensure that your facility will be fit for purpose when handed over to you.

Pre-opening support

To ensure speedy and successful opening of a new healthcare facility or department, preparations should start long before the building has been fully equipped and commissioned. Staff needs to be recruited and trained, policies and procedures need to be written and the relevant licenses need to be obtained, to name just a few of the many necessary pre-opening activities. AMPC’s experience can help you avoid common pit falls during the pre-opening period and ensure a smooth and efficient inauguration of your facility and treatment of the first patients.
