The government of Zanzibar aimed to improve basic maternal, neonatal and emergency obstetric services on the archipelago. Therefore, it requested SAB MedConsult and AMPC to analyse the current healthcare situation and to design a project aimed at improving the delivery of healthcare services on the archipelago. After the approval of the ORIO-application and the development of a comprehensive feasibility study for the project, AMPC assisted the MoH in the procurement phase of the project. In this capacity, AMPC drafted the procurement plan for approval by the Ministry. After approval of the procurement plan, AMPC developed the tender specifications for the equipment, infrastructure and maintenance sections as well as the complete tender documentation. Thereafter, AMPC assisted in the evaluation of the pre-qualification documents of the technical and financial proposals. To conclude this assignment, AMPC provided contracting assistance, including negotiations and awarding.
