The Government of Puntland in partnership with UNICEF Somalia received funding from the German Government through the German Bank for Reconstruction (KfW) for a project to support strengthening the health systems in Puntland with the aim of working towards the improvement of health services in Puntland. In 2018, UNICEF requested AMPC’s services to offer technical assistance and deliver a tender package for medical equipment required for the Garowe Regional Hospital (GRH) Project. AMPC’s tasks included the review of the preliminary designs and to ensure that all installation, technical specifications and maintenance requirements are planned for and specified before construction packages were tendered. Furthermore, AMPC provided assistance in the tender development period by preparing the tender documentation, by advising on the procurement strategy and developing a bid evaluation methodology. Lastly, AMPC’s contract included the coordination of the installation of medical equipment in the construction phase of the project.
