- Life and Fire Safety Assessments of clinics

The Medical Credit Fund (MCF) provides private healthcare facilities in Africa with affordable financing to expand their business and improve the quality of care they deliver. Projects financed by MCF should comply with the IFC's Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines. As part of compliance monitoring, AMPC was requested by MCF to perform an independent Life and Fire Safety Assessment at three Kenyan hospitals: Embu Children Hospital in Embu, Mediheal Hospital & Fertility Centre in Eldoret, and Siloam Hospital in Kericho. By means of a revision of available documentation and on-site technical assessments, compliance with norms related to issues such as fire prevention, means of egress, detection and alarm systems, fire control, and emergency response plans were evaluated. Based on the results of the assessment, recommendations were made to eliminate or mitigate the main risks at each facility.
