- Waste management Winneba

Winneba Hospital in Ghana was established with co-financing from the Dutch government under the ORET programme. To ensure high-quality hospital operations, a technical assistance and training programme was implemented by MeduProf-S. Within the overall programme, AMPC was subcontracted to implement a hospital hygiene and waste management capacity building programme to protect the health and safety of staff, patients and the local population and to minimise the environmental impact of the hospital’s operations. A competence-based hand-on training programme was developed focussing on best practices in hygiene and waste management and individual responsibilities of different types of staff members. Additionally, as part of the training programme, a visit to the Netherlands was programmed for participants with management responsibilities to observe good practices and exchange knowledge and experiences with their Dutch peers.
