In 2015, Focus Medical Company was actively pursuing the establishment of the Diyar al Shifa Hospital in Jeddah. The hospital was already fully designed and was proposed to have a specific focus on Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation and Cardiology besides offering general medical services. AMPC was contracted to provide input for care delivery simulation modelling. The general focus of this assignment was on mapping the care delivery processes at various departments of the hospital. To this end, AMPC organised a series of workshops and expert meetings to support the identification and understanding of the relevant roles, responsibilities, and processes in care delivery. The outcomes of the process were used for simulation modelling to determine the effects of different patient loads on space, equipment, IT and HR requirements.
