Asia Royal Hospital (ARH) is one of the most well-known private hospitals in Yangon. During the past two decades, Asia Royal Hospital has contributed significantly to caring for patients from low and middle-income groups in Yangon and neighboring areas. To address the increased demand for quality and specialist health services in Myanmar, the hospital has made it a priority to further improve its services and expertise. In line with this priority, the hospital has started construction of a new building to house cardiac and emergency services and is also planning to upgrade its existing facilities. DEG, the German Investment and Development Corporation, agreed to provide a loan to Asia Royal Hospital to fund equipment and complete interior facilities for the new hospital building. As part of DEG’s due diligence process, AMPC was contracted to assess the existing facilities’ current performance, with a specific focus on life and fire safety, waste management and quality management. AMPC systematically assessed the hospital against national and international guidelines and formulated key areas for improvement within the fields of life and fire safety, waste management and quality management.
